1. What are vitamins?

The basics first: Vitamins are organic compounds and so-called micronutrients. Although they don't provide you with energy like carbohydrates, protein and fat, you need vitamins to stay healthy and perform.

Vitamins are primarily found in fruits, vegetables, legumes and whole grains. The German Nutrition Society (DGE) therefore recommends eating three portions of vegetables and two portions of fruit daily. Best freshly prepared and varied. So a bag of apple chips doesn't count.

Basically, the following always applies: fresh and healthy food is the best thing you can give your body. In reality, we also know that five portions of fresh fruit and vegetables don't work every day. That's why our boosters , milkshakes , functional sprays and also Sleep & Recovery provide you with vitamins that skilfully round off the spectrum of effects of the respective supplement.

2. What functions do vitamins fulfill?

So, why vitamins again? Quite simply: the better your character's health status, the more resistant and powerful he is. This also applies to you in real life. Vitamins help keep your health status in top shape.

They fulfill various functions that, when combined, contribute to a smooth metabolism and healthy body functions. Focus, relaxation, regeneration, digestion, immune system, etc. – vitamins are involved in (almost) everything that happens in your body.

3. Which vitamins are essential?

Essential nutrients are those that your body cannot produce itself. It depends on you getting it from food. This applies to all vitamins – with the exception of vitamin D.

Good to know: In order for your body to produce vitamin D itself, it needs ideal conditions. Especially sunlight. Since this is often in short supply in the winter months, dietary supplements with vitamin D make sense. You can read everything about vitamin D and its importance for health and performance here:

Water-soluble vs. fat-soluble vitamins

With a balanced and varied diet, it is easy to cover your vitamin needs without overdosing. Most vitamins are water-soluble; i.e. your body can simply absorb them without much fuss and use them the way it needs them. Anything in excess is simply excreted through the kidneys.

Things are different with fat-soluble vitamins. Your body can only absorb them in combination with fat and stores them after absorption. This is why fat-soluble vitamins can be accidentally overdosed. Fat-soluble vitamins are vitamins A, D, E and K.

Tip: Instead of taking nutritional supplements wildly, be smart and inform yourself carefully. Each dietary supplement states what percentage of the daily requirement of the respective vitamin is covered by one serving. Two different supplements that cover 100% of the daily vitamin A requirement is too much. If you are unsure whether a dietary supplement is suitable for you, always speak to a doctor or nutritionist.

4. Vitamins for gamers – These vitamins support you while gaming

Now to the really interesting question: Which vitamins do gamers need? First: Everything that every healthy person needs. Second: those that are particularly important for your performance and recovery while gaming. Which vitamins are good for the eyes?

If you gamble a lot, you can do something good for your eyes every now and then. Vitamin A and Vitamin B2 are particularly good vitamins for the eyes. Both help maintain normal vision.
